Should I Text My Ex?
It's late, the message is mostly written, and the only thing left is whether to send it — this takes a couple of minutes to look at where you are, why tonight, and what sending would do for you.
What this looks at
- Where you are with the breakup right now, and what set this off tonight
- How it ended, and what reaching out has done before
- Whether anything has been asked about contact, and how contact has been received since
The time after a breakup can be heavy, and a late-night pull to reach out is common — it isn't a failing. Nothing here is a judgment of you or of anyone else. If any of this feels bigger than one message, there are people whose job it is to help.
This is a reading of your own answers about where you are. It's an interpretation, not advice about what to send, and not a read on anyone else. More in the disclaimer
Pick up where you left off?
How this reading works
This one is about you, not about your ex. It does not weigh whether a reply would come. Your answers cover four things a friend would ask before you send anything: where you are with the breakup and what set tonight off; how long it has been, and whether something changed or something simply reminded you; how it ended, and what reaching out has done before; and whether either of you has asked for space, and how contact has been received. What comes back is a lean. Lean toward, with care means your answers support sending, once it has had a night. Not yet means one question is still open and it is yours to answer. Lean wait means what you described sounds like it belongs to tonight. Lean away means what you want and what has been asked point the same way, toward you. What it cannot know is what a message would mean at the other end. This reading works from what you tell it: it looks for patterns in your answers, it cannot see anything you did not describe, it does not know what anyone else is thinking, and it does not predict what happens next.
Questions people ask
Does this work whether it's a he, a she or they?
Yes, and without a single change. Every question asks about you, about how it ended, and about what has actually happened since, so nothing turns on who your ex is. Whichever way you searched for this, one page answers it.
Is this accurate?
It is as accurate as how honest you are with it tonight, because your eleven answers are everything it has. It knows nothing about your ex: not what they would think, not whether they would reply, and not what they have been feeling since. What it can do is put your own answers side by side so the pull and the reasons are visible at the same time. Answer it again on an ordinary afternoon and the lean may read differently — that difference is itself worth knowing.
Is this a quiz or a calculator?
It is a reading, not a quiz with a right answer and not a calculator with a number. No question has a correct choice, nothing is scored, and where a question is heavy, "I'd rather not say" is a real answer that costs you nothing. What comes back is one lean with the reasons behind it, and the decision stays yours either way.
Is it private?
No answer you tap leaves your device. The reading is worked out there, no answer is stored, and nothing about your ex is ever asked for — no name, no message, no screenshot. If you share the result, the card carries the calculator name and the lean only, never an answer and never anything about them.
Will this tell me if they'll reply?
No, and it does not try. It reads nothing about your ex, so it has nothing to say about what they would do with a message. The lean is about whether sending would be good for you — whether the message is carrying something you are ready to have said, whichever way they respond, or if nothing comes back at all.
