Privacy policy

How LoveBeat Calculator handles your data: answers stay on your device, analytics count actions never content, and nothing needs an account.

Short version: your answers never leave your device.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. No name, no email address, no phone number, no contacts, no private messages, no social-media access, no precise location and no identity verification. There is no account, so there is nothing to sign in to and nothing to delete.

Your answers

The questions you answer and the reading you get are worked out in your browser. They are not uploaded, not stored on a server and not attached to you. If you leave partway through, an unfinished answer set may be kept in your own browser so you can pick it up again; clearing your browser data removes it.

Measurement

We count how the site is used in aggregate: that a calculator was started, that a question was answered, that a reading was viewed and which result family it belonged to, that a share was opened, and that someone started over. Those counts carry no answers and nothing you typed. Where an answer means a reading is not shown, the only thing recorded is that a reading was viewed.

The counting is done by Google Analytics. Along with the events above it records the pages you view, how long they stay open and how far down you scroll, the page that linked you here, any link you follow off the site, the kind of device and browser you use, and a rough location worked out from your connection; Google does not keep the address of your connection itself. In most places it sets a cookie holding a random number, so that a return visit from the same browser is counted as one visitor rather than two. That number is not tied to your name, and we never join it to anything you answer. We keep Google's advertising features, demographic reports and cross-site signals switched off. Google processes the counts on our behalf, partly on servers in the United States, and keeps the event-level detail for at most fourteen months. We do this because knowing which calculators people use, and where they stop, is how the site gets better; that is the legitimate interest we rely on.

How Google uses information from sites that use its services describes Google's side of it.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the counting is switched off altogether: nothing is loaded from Google and nothing is sent, judged by the country your connection comes from. Anywhere else, you can turn it off for this browser with the button below, and it stays off until you turn it back on. A browser that sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal is never counted, and a content blocker that blocks Google Analytics has the same effect.

Sharing

A share card is put together on your device and contains only the calculator and the name of the reading. It never contains your answers and never contains anything you typed. Sharing happens only when you ask for it.

Children

The site is written for readers 18 and older and is not directed at children.
